Money Management

Updated on 2025-11-07

Money Management in sports betting is a pre-set strategy for increasing or decreasing bets or lays, which modulates the amounts of subsequent trades to achieve a pre-established objective.

By precisely applying this strategy, traders can manage their capital or bankroll without being influenced by emotions.

Betting Toolkit offers traders the ability to manage the performance of different types of money management by saving the corresponding strategies for later recall and continuation.

If you close the Money Management function with a saved strategy, it will automatically reopen the next time you access the function.

The available Money Management plans are listed below.

  • Fixed Bankroll Percentage
At each subsequent step, a stake is placed that corresponds to a liability equal to a fixed percentage of the bankroll.
The plan has no predetermined end date if the capital increases and is interrupted if the preset capital is exhausted.
  • Bankroll Percentage / Odds
At each subsequent step, a stake is placed that carries a liability equal to a fixed percentage of the bankroll divided by the odds of the bet. This allows the stake to be adjusted based on the implicit risk associated with the odds.
The plan does not have a predetermined end in the event of a capital increase and is interrupted if the pre-set capital is exhausted.
  • Expected Outcomes on Total Outcomes (Binomial Distribution)
Once a predetermined number of events has been selected and the expected number of successes estimated, the plan allows the market attack to be closed profitably once these conditions regarding the number of successes/failures are met.
  • Recovery of Losses
In the event of a negative P/L compared to the initial cash, the plan aims to recover this loss by increasing the stake in a predetermined number of subsequent bets; otherwise, the plan behaves like the fixed percentage plan. For example, if you set the number of recovery bets to 5, the recovery stake will be divided by 5 and used in 5 subsequent bets if the calculated amount is higher than the fixed percentage plan.

WARNING

Money Management plans do not guarantee winnings, which always depend on the trader's choices. Some plans allow for increased stakes in subsequent steps, thus increasing the risk associated with each bet. If you are new to these strategies, we recommend evaluating the behavior in simulation mode and verifying whether the plan matches your expected outcome. When using them in real mode, we recommend starting with stakes that are low enough to evaluate how the plans work.
