Single Back Bet

Updated on 2024-07-25

Placing a back bet using Betting Toolkit is extremely simple. If you are in the Grid interface, which is similar to the layout on the Betfair website, you can place a back bet by clicking on one of the blue cells displaying the odds value and the available money at those odds. The best back odds available for matching are immediately to the left of the WoM column. If the "Confirm" option is enabled at the top right of the main Betting Toolkit window, the Bet Confirmation window will open. Here, besides the back and lay odds for the desired selection, you can confirm or modify the bet parameters before it is actually placed in the market. If the parameters are not modified, the back bet is placed in the market with the pre-selected stake and odds. Otherwise, you can change the type of bet at this stage by choosing from other available options: lay, back/lay trading, lay/back trading, back/lay immediately, or lay/back immediately.

In the Bet Confirmation Window, you can set the persistence (None or Keep) and enable the option to cancel previously placed but unmatched bets in the market. In this bet confirmation phase, the initially chosen odds can also be modified by either entering the value manually or having the program automatically set it using live odds by checking "Live Odds." At the bottom of the Bet Confirmation Window, there is a summary table indicating the profit or loss for each selection resulting from the bet being placed in the market.

You can also place back bets easily from the ladder interface: to ensure your bet is matched immediately, simply click on one of the empty blue cells to the right of the column indicating the odds. After clicking on the desired odds, if the "Bet Confirmation" function is active, the corresponding window will open, where you will find all the available options described above.

Trading Mode
Activating the trading mode sets up a closing bet to exit the market with a profit at a predefined tick distance. This bet is not sent to the market immediately but only once the primary bet has been executed. If the primary bet is partially executed, the corresponding portion of the counter-bet will be placed. In trading mode, activating the Smart option will automatically calculate the amount of the counter-bet to balance the profit across the various outcomes. In practice, once the trade is closed, you will have the same profit regardless of the match outcome.
