Strategy Manager

Updated on 2024-07-25

With the Strategy Manager tool, you create and modify strategies to be subsequently applied to the markets. The Strategy Manager window is divided into four areas described below:

  • List of available strategies: initially, the list is empty, and to create a strategy, you need to press the "New Strategy" button.
  • Tree of strategy rules, conditions, and actions
  • Strategy description: a text box is available where you can write a brief description of the currently selected strategy.
  • Selected node description: this window shows a detailed description of the node (rule, action, condition) currently selected in the strategy tree.

Strategy Files

The name of the strategy file is shown in the lower status bar. The listed strategy files (with the ".bts" extension) are stored in the "Strategy" folder of the common files in the dedicated Betting Toolkit program folder. However, a copy of any strategy can be stored anywhere and retrieved from any folder. When a strategy is opened from an external folder, a copy of it is made in the strategies folder. The strategies folder thus contains all the strategies ready to be applied to a market.

Strategy Tree

The strategy tree is composed as follows:

  • Main node: contains the name of the strategy and is the root node of the entire tree. Clicking on it in the node description on the right shows a summary of the strategy.
  • Rule nodes: a strategy consists of one or more rules. There is no limit to the number of rules a strategy can be composed of. Each rule follows its own start and stop settings. The processing of rules and the evaluation of their execution start when the strategy is launched and end when the strategy is stopped. Within this time interval, each rule can have its own execution conditions.
  • Basic condition node: each rule is assigned at least one condition node. Each node can contain multiple conditions and multiple condition nodes.
  • Action node: each rule contains an action node which in turn contains the actions to be executed if the conditions in their logical arrangement trigger the execution.

The numerous types of conditions and types of actions available constitute the building blocks with which to build your strategy.
